Date Posted: 01 May 2015

Swanley-based waste services company Mark Luck Limited (MLL) has won a Bronze Award from the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS).

FORS is an accreditation scheme open to any company in the UK operating a fleet of vans, lorries, minibuses or coaches. Its principal aim is to improve fleet activity by ensuring that fleet operators work lawfully and to best practice.

Mark Luck Limited, which owns and operates 42 vehicles and employs 50 people, has been rewarded for its ongoing commitment to fleet management and is now officially recognised as a legally compliant operator that is following best practice.

To become FORS bronze accredited the company had to prove, during a formal company audit carried out by an independent FORS auditor, that the company meets the criteria set out in the FORS standards.

The audit lasted almost five hours and was carried out on MLL's premises, in Wested Lane, and covered its management, vehicles, drivers and general operations.

The bronze award is valid for 12 months.

In addition to providing waste services to the construction and building industry, MLL's fleet of vehicles engage in the supply of all types of aggregates and topsoils. The company also operates a grab hire and plant hire service and has worked on some very high profile projects, including the construction of the Olympic Stadium and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the Channel tunnel rail link, Bluewater shopping centre, Crossrail and Gatwick airport, as well as various hospitals and major power stations.
