Mark Luck MANAGING DIRECTOR
Mark is the third generation of Lucks to run our company, its founder being his grandfather of the same name. Marks father Ken raised him with the specific intention of one day taking over the company, and he instilled in him at a young age the love of lorries and of our industry.
Ken wanted to ensure that Mark had a well rounded knowledge of every aspect of the company from accounts to mechanics, doing apprenticeships and Saturday jobs, Mark grew up attacking and enjoying all tasks from admin and invoicing to shadowing Ken in his managerial role.
Whilst still a 15 year old school boy mark earned his Transport CPC qualification. He left school at 17 and joined the company full time, starting off in the workshop and becoming a competent fitter, with an intimate knowledge of the lorries, then became a driver of both tippers and grabs before moving into the office. He worked closely with his father and his trusted colleagues until 2018 when sadly Ken passed away. Mark then stepped into his shoes as Managing Director, Mark then went on to earn his WAMITAB licence.
Under Mark's stewardship the company has continued to grow with and expanding fleet and an additional recycling yard in Swanscombe. Mark hopes to continue this trend until he can one day pass the reins onto the next member of the Luck family.
Guy Archbutt DIRECTOR
Like Mark, Guy is another life long member of the Mark Luck LTD family, his father Chris helped establish Mark Luck as the company it is today and Guy grew up in and our lorries and our ethos.
Guy joined our office staff as a school leaver at 16 and gained an extensive education in the field and workings of transport. At the age of 22 Guy became a driver where he made a name for his self as conscientious and dedicated worker, often out working and out performing his older colleagues, and developed a deep understanding for the life and trials of the tipper driver.
At the age of 30 guy was drafted into the office with the eventual aim of taking over from his father Chris, he worked under and with Chris and the rest of the team whilst attaining his CPC managerial qualification. Guy took over as Manager of Mark Luck on his father's retirement and has enjoyed a busy but fruitful rein so far.
Elizabeth Carter DIRECTOR
Elizabeth is another member of the Luck family, she is the daughter of Ken Luck.
Lizzie first started at the company in 2004, where she was office accounts and admin. In 2014 Lizzie passed her Transport Manager CPC qualification.
After 10 years, Lizzie took on some compliance work to further her role within the company. In 2018 Lizzie returned to work from maternity leave and took on head of compliance full time, her role consists of keeping track of our drivers daily working hours, infringements and CPC training.
In the summer of 2018 Lizzie was made director of Mark Luck Ltd.
Jimmy Archbutt TRANSPORT MANAGER
Jimmy started with the company back in 2001, at the age of 17, working in accounts doing invoicing, admin work and ledger.
Jimmy left the company for a couple of years and went travelling with Guy.
The pair returned in 2010, he came back as a grab driver delivering and collecting materials. In 2016, Jimmy got his CPC Transport Manager qualification.
At the age of 21, he got his tipper licence and went out on the road full time.
Jimmy has grown within the company and is now in the office as our Transport Manager and Sales & Logistics Manager. His role is coordinating, planning and overseeing tasks and operations within the transportation activities.
He is required to ensure that all legal requirements for road haulage are met. He also oversees our sales by making sure our vehicle earnings are met.
